“I like doing something good to help other people out, and I like being active,” says Terry Nelson, our March Volunteer of the Month. From building houses to building mini greenhouses out of recycled windows, Terry has seen it all as a Habitat volunteer. He volunteers weekly in the ReStore, in addition to making items out of repurposed materials for sale on the ReStore floor. “Terry is so talented and flexible, always positive and helpful and a true human asset to our cause,” says ReStore Retail Manager, Cindy.
Before he helped to open the ReStore in 2010, Terry was a build site volunteer, working on three Habitat houses in the Meyer Estates neighborhood in Springfield. Terry enjoys working with the other volunteers and staff in the ReStore, as well as helping customers as they shop for home projects.
When he’s not in the ReStore, Terry is an avid square dancer and traveler throughout the northwest. He also tends a large garden, fruit trees, and other plants on his property, and donates many pounds of produce to the local food pantry each year. We appreciate all that you do in support of Habitat families, Terry!
