Several volunteers gathered for what would be our first of 6 all volunteer foundation pours. In the past we used to subcontract this out. Inflation and the desire to have more opportunities for volunteers, doing the foundation this way was financially advantageous for our project. It did help that one of our volunteers, the Master of Liquid Rock, Fred has had decades in the concrete profession who taught all along the way. And coming down from Portland for the pour was a 3rd year construction apprentice who has been working with concrete but had never done a foundation before, she learned a lot. The teamwork done by these volunteers was awe inspiring. Thank you to all who came out for the pour, you did a beautiful job. Isn’t it amazing what can be done when we all work together?
